Metin Kaşo graduated in 1970 from Turkey's prestigious Practical & Fines Arts University, with honors, as a Furniture Designer & Interior Architect.
That same year he started his own business and opened a Bespoke Furniture and Decoration store in the well renowned Şişli area in Istanbul. In 1975 he married Pervin Kurbanzade who had been his classmate in the Academy of Fine Arts and since then, his colleague and life partner. They also studied Italian and the Northern European style and furniture craftsmanship. Together they created a unique style of Turkish furniture with luxurious and the highest quality components, which has been extremely successful. Metin Kaşo's name in Turkey is synonymous with the very highest quality, originality and an exuberant luxury which is hard to be matched in this region.
Since 1975 Metin Kaso has been a leading light in Turkish furniture design and his mission is to make great design accessible to more people.
He is given lectures at the Marmara University Fine Arts Faculty in Interior and Furniture Design section. Also he is a member of consulting at the Okan Univerysity Fine Arts Faculty. He is attending some of conferanses, panel and seminers at different Universities. Such as Boğaziçi University Professional of Hotelery High School.
Some of his designs are reminiscent of past cultures, such as the plainness of the Ottoman’s the perfection of the Empire, the power of Biedermeier and the simplistic stylized lines of Art Deco. These designs are bought up to date and will stand the test of time.

1999 - DECOREX USA - Chicago World Fair -1st Prize - for Best of All Branches
2000 - Teamed up with British Decoration Company Renwick & Clark (London) and won Excellence award for quality and design at DECOREX 2000 Fair London.

After 40 years at Şişli Metin Kaşo has moved his store locationion to Levent, to a three storey showroom set in a garden. Metin Kaşo and his, business, life partner, colleague & designer wife, Pervin Kaşo continue to work with the famous British designer Michael Reeves. Together they have created and fused the styles of London.
Metin Kaşo started to work with a famaus furniture company in New York Since 2006 and make bespoke furniture and design for them.
